Their traditional Honoki (Magnolia hypoleuca) handle, which is lightweight and naturally comfortable to hold, offers the remarkable balance and ease of use for which the brand is renowned.
Whether it’s a starter set from the Haiku Home collection or a set designed for the most discerning chefs with Haiku Original, each set has been designed to be a lasting companion for those who regard cooking as an art form.
The Asa-no-ha motif, a symbol of tradition
The case is adorned with the Asa-no-ha motif, one of the most iconic geometric designs in Japan’s decorative heritage. Its name literally means ‘hemp leaf’ (asa: hemp, ha: leaf) and depicts a composition of hexagonal stars inspired by the leaves of this plant.
Long before cotton was introduced to Japan, hemp was the most widely used textile fibre for making clothing. Sturdy, durable and fast-growing, it naturally became a symbol of vitality, prosperity and harmonious growth. For centuries, the Asa-no-ha motif has adorned textiles, ceramics and everyday objects, perpetuating an aesthetic heritage deeply rooted in Japanese culture.

Each set embodies the values for which Haiku is renowned:
