Japanese knife Ko-Yanagi Haiku Ryoma Sakamoto

Haiku Ryoma Sakamoto is a range of black forged Japanese knives made of highly carburized 0.8% carbon steel. Made in the island of Tosa, Japan the birthplace of the famous samurai of the same name.

This short range offers excellent quality for an entry level black forged blade compared to more carburized blades like those in the Haiku Kurouchi range, top of the range of black forged knives. The knives are made in the traditional way on the blades to the end of the untreated light wood handle.

The blade of the Japanese Ko-Yanagi knives is a traditional Japanese shape that fulfills the same role as the universal knives more communly known worldwide. It is a short blade but longer than a paring office knife which allows great ease in cutting small and medium foods on meats, fish, fruits and vegetables.

Each blade is carefully crafted by experienced knifemakers, who imbue each knife with their expertise, resulting in a strong sense of identity. Please note that the blades are sensitive to oxidation.
