Kasumi is the oldest family-run cutlery manufacturer in Seki, Japan.
Kasumi is one of the pioneering manufacturers of Damascus kitchen knives and was among the first to popularize VG10 steel. Based in Seki, Japan, capital of Japanese cutlery, the company has been preserving exceptional artisanal expertise for several generations thanks to the country’s finest craftsmen. Kasumi is also the oldest cutlery manufacturer in Seki. Through each of its creations, the brand celebrates a unique heritage blending Japanese tradition, technical innovation, and contemporary design. Kasumi knives are instantly recognizable by their visual identity inspired by Japanese aesthetics, bringing historical heritage and modernity. Committed to the high-end market since its inception, the manufacturer has a perfect grasp of trends in premium cutlery.
The Kasumi Titanium line represents the lightest version of the brand’s Japanese knives. Every detail has been designed to maximize this feeling of lightness, notably thanks to a thin blade made of high-carbon steel coated with titanium nitride. To maintain an ideal balance between the blade and the handle, Kasumi deliberately chose a plastic handle, which is more suitable than a wooden handle that would have thrown the knife off balance. Its concave shape reinforces its futuristic style while ensuring an ergonomic and intuitive grip.
Available in anthracite gray or titanium blue, the blades offer an elegant and modern look. The coating also offers a technical advantage, as it limits the rapid oxidation of food after cutting. For example, a freshly cut apple will brown less quickly, since only the edge of the blade actually comes into contact with the food. This feature makes the Kasumi Titanium line an excellent choice for baking, desserts, and preparations where preserving flavors and textures is essential.
